Håtunaleken - Lion Rampant club project

After the release of the new Osprey rules Lion Rampant by Dan Mersey, that I and Jonas from the club been involved in the playtest, I have run a couple of demo games at the club and the interest have been very good.

So I, Sören and Jesper decided to set up a small lose club campaign revolving around the "Håtunaleken" that was the struggle of the Crown between the sons of the late Swedish King Magnus Birgersson in the beginning of the 14th centery. There was not many pitched battles but a more low intense war with raids and ambushes on going for several years, perfect for the force size in Lion Rampant.

To let as many of our club mates as possible to get a chanse to participate we decided to start up with 12 points Hoasts and run multiplayer games. Each hoast will have their own leader and we will use activation cards to set the activation orders during the turn, We have tried this out during the playtest of Lion Rampant and it have turned out to work really nice and give very good games.

So far 9 members have choosen House they will fight for, as you can see in the chart abowe there are several members from the House of Bjälbo that are the House that at the moment are the Royal house... But as Sweden by the time was a elective kingdom, anyone can become the King:)

I have ofcourse started to build my hoast, I have used Fire Forge Sergeants mixed up with the Gripping Beast Dark Age Warriors. Of course I will run them as Allmoge...or maybe as Foot Serjants as my Knights more standing retinue, but still with Mixed Weapon swedish style, I think...

As a result of our clubproject the local gaming store are out of stock for much of their Fire Forge minis... :)

    1. Glad you do and i hope your project Will turn out well.

The activation Cards are one for each of the players/leaders so we get a randomisera order the different hoasts may try to activate, still if you fail we draw a new activation card.

Yes the Allmoge Will be Fields as Foot Yeomen with mixed weapons 5 pts each OR if Fielded with some frälse/knights that was common in Sweden they would be Fielded as foot serjants with mixed weapon upgrade 6pts/unit.
